Body in Balance offers the following massage therapy treatments:
Swedish Massage | 30 minutes: $35.00; 60 minutes: $65.00; 75 minutes: $80.00
The Swedish massage is the most common massage, especially for those new to massage therapy. It is a very relaxing treatment with long sweeping strokes using light pressure. This treatment does not include trigger point work, or the use of Graston Instruments.
Therapeutic Massage | 30 minutes: $40.00; 60 minutes: $70.00: 75 minutes: $85.00
The Therapeutic massage includes variable pressure from light to moderate. Most clients request lighter pressure on the arms and legs with moderate pressure for the back, shoulder and neck. This treatment can include trigger point work or the use of Graston Instruments to address areas of pain or tension.
Deep Tissue Massage | 30 minutes: $45.00; 60 minutes: $75.00; 75 minutes: $90.00
The Deep Tissue Massage, also known as a Sports Massage, is for someone that is looking for strong steady pressure throughout the massage treatment. This includes trigger point therapy and the use of Graston Instruments if requested.
Thai Massage | 30 minutes: $45.00; 60 minutes: $70.00; 90 minutes: $95.00
This treatment is performed on a large floor mat with both the client and the therapist fully dressed in comfortable clothing. The therapist moves the client through a specific sequence of positions and stretches to release muscle tension. During this process the therapist will integrate massage techniques including compression, percussion, acupressure and trigger point therapy.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage |60 minutes: $70.00
This treatment is also performed on a massage table. Lymphatic Drainage uses gentle hand movements that create a stretch and pull stimulation to the skin which activates the transportation of fluid by the lymphatic system. This treatment is used for those experiencing Lymphedema, post surgical or post traumatic swelling, or decreased circulation in the legs. The lymphatic drainage sequence for the face can assist in the treatment of allergies or chronic congestion. The lymphatic drainage sequence to the abdominal area is helpful in treating constipation and digestive difficulties.
Chair Massage | $1/min
Chair Massage is performed with the client fully clothed and seated upright in a specially designed massage chair. This allows the massage therapist access to the neck, back and shoulders. The chair massage sequence is different from table massage as it involves compression, percussion and kneading of the muscles without using any oil. Chair Massage is performed in almost any location and usually last 10-30 minutes.
Pre/Post Natal Massage | 30 minutes: $45.00; 60 minutes: $80.00
The prenatal massage uses modified positioning of the client to avoid pressure on the belly, while allowing the massage therapist to work on the tight back muscles. This can include side lying on the massage table, seated leaning forward on the massage table, on the belly with a specially designed cut out pillow, or in a massage chair. Depending on the duration of the massage the treatment may focus on one particular area or include the full body sequence.
Graston/Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization | upon request; no additional fee
This is a treatment modality that can be added into any other massage session. It involves the use of specially designed metal instruments to work out muscle tension, adhesions in the soft tissue and increase circulation to areas of pain or injury. It is an excellent treatment for muscle strains, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or any disorder of the body's soft/connective tissue. Please notify the therapist ahead if you want this to be included in your treatment so that the instruments will be ready.
Aromatherapy | upon request; no additional fee
This add-on service involves the addition of essential oils to the oil being used during the massage treatment. This may also include the use of essential oils in a diffuser to fill the treatment room with scent. Each type of essential oil or essential oil blend has unique properties that bring about therapeutic effects. These benefits include enhanced relaxation, balancing emotions or aiding detoxification.

15 Minutes: Chair massage: Just need a quick tune up? When the massage chair is available it only takes 15 minutes to feel relief from tight back, neck and shoulder muscles!
30 Minutes: Table Massage: This short treatment session was designed to work on a specific area of the body. If you are having muscle tension in a specific area (lower back, neck...) and just want massage work done to that location without the full body sequence then the 30 minute treatment is ideal. This treatment duration is also a good choice if you are looking to have a Graston (Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization) treatment to one area. Keep in mind, 30 minutes goes very quickly when you are enjoying a massage!
60 Minutes: Table Massage: This treatment session will cover the full body sequence with time spent on the front and back of the body. It can include some gentle stretching and additional time focusing on your areas of need. A Graston (Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization) treatment can be added to this session upon request.
75 Minutes: Table Massage: The 75 minute treatment allows time for a very complete full body sequence, including face and scalp massage if desired. It allows more time to be spent on each muscle group. It can also give the therapist more time to include gentle stretching for the arms and legs. The longer duration gives the client time to completely relax and enjoy the treatment.
90 Minutes: Thai Massage: This time frame allows the full body Thai Massage sequence to be performed. The longer duration of treatment gives the recipient time to reach a state of deep relaxation to fully enjoy the treatment. 90 minute table massages are available by special request.
If you are uncomfortable spending time either on your back or on your stomach please notify the therapist so the position and the sequence can be modified for your comfort.
You should not have a massage therapy treatment if you are currently experiencing:
Drink lots of water, this helps the body to flush out the toxins that were released from your muscles during the massage work. It will also decrease soreness the next day.
Relax! Avoid heavy exercise, but gentle stretching is a great way to follow your massage
If you experience soreness following deep tissue work perform gentle stretches to the area, take a warm shower or bath, or apply an Ice pack for 10-15 minutes as needed.
You may want to leave time to take a shower and wash off the oil or lotion used during the massage (*use caution when washing up after a massage as the oil can make the shower slippery*)
